Call the shop.....or call your friends...and hook it up. And speaking of Lahti...if you remember...when we last left him he had just married Avril and was looking forward to "wedded bliss."
Well....they took a few weeks to enjoy each other's company during their honeymoon..and tried to hid from the paparazzi......if you ask me Lahti looks a little tense.
But Lahti insisted that they fulfill his life long dream of visiting the magic kingdom.... so they hooked up with a couple of Avril's cousins....and kicked up their heels.
Then it was back to reality and Lahti decided he wanted Avril to quit her career and allow him to be the chief breadwinner. He wasn't getting enough hours at Streets of Fire so he found a second job.....and he made "the purple promise."
It was easy living living for the most part........but they got in their first big argument when it was time to choose their first car. Avril wanted something sporty and fun...maybe a convertible.....and Lahti wanted something a little more useful and purple.... something like this.....
Well......they never did decide on a vehicle.....and for a few days.....Avril even decided to try and live up to the lofty goal of the "purple promise".....but it just wasn't meant to be. But it was fun while it lasted.....and so were the outfits......
All it took was getting caught once shaking the candy machine (R.I.P. EA Sports) and she was let go. So she went home and tried her hand at housework......
But that only lasted a few days.......Lahti soon found out that Avril was not going to be "domesticated" without a fight.......she went through a rebellious stage.....and he came home from work to find her "less than presentable"......
Obviously she wasn't doing the laundry.............
And we all know how Lahti feels about smoking....so something had to give. Lahti suggested it was time to add to the family.......Avril agreed....but Avril's idea of a "new addition" to the family........
ended up being a little bit different than Lahti's......
But eventually.......after hours and hours and days and weeks of talking....Lahti was able to convince Avril that the time was right for them...... He was ready to hear the pitter patter of little feet on the hardwood floors of his apartment on Broad street. (PS...did you see me use the words hardwood and broad in the same sentence?)
Look at that proud Papa!!!!! Although Avril looks a little less than thrilled.....Lahti assured me that this is just the first of many.....and eventually he hopes to have enough kids to completely staff both the purple and green belt at FedEx.....
Until next year.......Happy Birthday Lahti.....how about naming your second child "Pribz"? Stay tuned for pics from Cream City....or better yet......come on down and join us!!!!

01-24-08 Crazy Great in '08!!!! Dudes and dudettes! The Nike Dunks are in at Streets...hurry on down before some shoe collectors get there and buy up all the good sizes. And the details of the park rental have been finalized: We are heading North to Green Bay, WI to rent out the park this SATURDAY January 26th from 6-9pm. Call or stop down at S.O.F. to get on the list and to make driving arrangements. It's going to be the bomb yo! I think that's about it for this update......oh yeah....one more thing.....I read somewhere that Ryan Payne's nickname is "Hannah Montana"....can anyone tell us why? Is it because he's so cute and his hair is so pretty? Is it because he is so popular with the "tween" demographic? Or is it because he just "loves him some Miley Cyrus?" Don't make me ask Emma, the resident S.O.F. "Hannah Montana" expert. The only other question remaining is whether Ryan will skate with a wig on Saturday night......check back on Monday for details.
01-22-08 Not Quite "Super" Great in '08!!! But still GREAT! So the miracle season of the Green Bay Packers came to an end. Rats! If you were like me you were weeping openly in the presence of friends and loved ones. I heard a psychologist talking about ways to cope with our post-season depression... but that Dr. Phil wannabee didn't know what he was talking about! Everyone knows that the best way to get over depression is to skate! So on that note let's get a road trip together and head south. Call Baker and let him know what works for you...how about this Saturday or next Saturday February 2nd? The night before the super bowl....that would be dope! Git r dun dudes! If you want in for something this week get a hold of Baker ASAP'r. If you want to hear stories about sneaking camcorders into the game, fingers freezing off, harassing fans of the visiting team while wearing frosty handle-bar mustaches...stop in at streets....if you want to skateboard...tell Baker you're "in" for a Cream City afterhours trip.

01-19-08 SUPER DUPER GREAT IN '08!!!!! First off......I would be remiss if I didn't wish a happy 21st birthday to none other than our own Denim Rail! If Deerail was fortunate enough to survive last evening's post midnight activities......and you happen to see him around town....offer to buy him a 44oz. mountain dew and a chocolate filled donut. I'm quite sure he's had enough alcohol already so buying him a drink would be pointless.......maybe.......but ask him ...after all it is HIS birthday. Just be responsible DeeRail....we've all seen the damage alcohol can do...and it ain't pretty.
Speaking of gifts.......how about that gift from the football gods in the form of the Packers hosting the New York football Giants for the NFC Championship tomorrow?!!???!? I won't risk it by posting any pregame speculation as I did last week. Baker is getting too supersticious.....I just hope that Baker survives the game time windchill of minus 30! I know we're all happy to be moving on from Seattle and facing the "cowboy slaying" New York Giants! I hope the game this week is just as good...and obviously I hope the Packers can beat them. If the Packers make it to the Super Bowl.....who wants to join me in Las Vegas for the game? Lemme know yo! I still have a few "connections" in Vegas....and maybe even a few chips leftover from my trip. Other news.....from the world of the new oshkosh skatepark. Mr. Schneider has continued his moving and shaking behind the scenes and has scored a $5000 donation from the Tony Hawk Foundation for the new skatepark. Talk to Baker and find out what you can do to help the cause. It's getting closer every day! One last thing.......we have changed the message board settings so you have to log in and/or register in order to post on it. I know lots of you have registered for accounts (some dating back to 2005!) but now Baker has given me the "keys" to it and I'll take care of approving your accounts. 01-13-08 SUPER GREAT IN '08!!!!! DUDE!!!!!! Can you believe it? The Green Bay Football Packers are playing in
Matt Hasselbeck....for a rare moment he was not complaining to the officials about the physical play of the Packer corner backs, or the snow, or the cost of gasoline...he was getting sacked.
Leading up to the game Hasselbeck was talking about how he thought the Seahawks could run on the Packers. Matt....please don't turn our shrine to pro football into a den of lies! Maybe he meant he thought the Seahawks should run FROM the Packers defense?
It was snowy.....like frozen tears of joy....from heaven.

01-07-08 Still GRRRRRREEEEEAAAAAAT in Oh Eight!!!!
For instance.....when you are blessed with early January temperatures This weekend...to get out of my slump...I watched lots of NFL football. Then And do you know what else is great? The Packers are hosting a playoff game As most of you sports fans know......both Matt Hasselbeck and Mike Holmgren spent some time honing their football skills in Green Bay, the Mecca of professional football. Sadly their time here came to an end....and they were forced to look westward to continue their football careers. Lest they forget how good they had it while they were here, I am posting pictures of them from their times in Green Bay as well as current pictures. Please don't judge them too harshly for leaving....football is a business...and they've paid a price for leaving the squeaky clean / boring lifestyle of the midwest.

Hope everyone had as much fun as I did....what were you doing as the clock struck twelve? Skatin' or hatin'? I was doing neither but I did work on a list of resolutions. I decided I was going to work on my resolutions....so today I resolve to watch alot of college football...starting with the Badgers in the Outback Bowl at 10am on ESPN. I think you should all join me in this resolution. Together we can make 2008 the best 2008 ever!

Stop down and buy a new KAYO deck yo! 10-25-07 The "Two days late and two dollars short" update. So on Tuesday Oct. 23rd of this week it was Mr. James P. Baker Esq.'s birthday. I was supposed to put up an update paying homage to the original "Sheriff of Skateland" but for various reasons I couldn't handle it. That would explain why Lahti was working at S.O.F. on Tuesday, a day when he would normally be laying around his apartment acting cool and watching Howard Stern on Demand. The reason that Lahti had to cover for Baker might come as a shock to some of you...but to those of you who know Baker well....it won't be any surprise at all. Lahti had to work because Baker left Monday night to follow his dream and find his one true love. As anyone who has been to S.O.F. yesterday or today knows...his dreams went unfulfilled..and he is back living the rockstar life that only true skate shop owner powerbrokers know....we can safely say that love's loss is our gain. Baker left Monday night and drove straight through to Dallas, stopping only once for some gluten free beef jerky and a case of snickers bars...and once for a potty break. He arrived at the Dallas Cowboy's practice facility to meet face to face for the first time ......... his lover......
Mr. Tony Romo I first learned of Baker's infatuation with him when Baker showed me a Christmas present he had ordered from nfl.com. I knew he liked he Cowboys....but the name on the back of the jersey kinda caught me off...
So....i guess i figured out that he "kinda liked" Tony Romo....when we would sit in the back room at S.O.F. and he would rattle off useless facts about Tony. How Tony was a 3rd generation Mexican-American.....How even though he played QB for the Burlingon, WI Demons....he always thought of him as an angel.....he even made a big deal over the fact that the first time Tony Romo every took a snap in a regular season Dallas Cowboy football game...it was on Baker's very own birthday.....at the start of the second half in their game against the Giants....Oct. 23, 2005. Baker seemed to think that there was fate involved in their relationship. Still...i was surprised when he told me he was driving to Valley Ranch to profess his true feelings to Tony. Apparently things didn't go as planned when he got there and met Tony. Baker had decided to take off the horribly obvious hair piece that he wears around the shop and let Tony see him in all his bald glory. He even teased his wirey hair a bit to give it some more volume, sadly though, it only made him look like Bozo the clown....and everyone knows that no matter how much in love two people are....they'd never survive a tabloid onslaught with headlines like Romo luvz Bozo. But at long last they met.....
Baker came on a little too strong at first...or maybe Tony was just a little shy. They agreed to "cool it" for the evening and meet up the next day after practice. Baker went back to the hotel room/truck stop he was staying at and stayed up all night wondering what he did wrong. He convinced himself that he needed to "spruce up" his appearance a little bit. Since Tony was young and handsome...he knew he'd need a really special look so he stopped by the same hair stylist that helps keep Jimmy Johnson's hair perfectly coiffed...and asked him to help him out. He wanted a complete transformation so he took a few chances.....
He tried sassy and curly.....

Short and sparky.....
I don't even know what to say about this one.....

Pucker up Tony!
Finally he decided on this look......elegant..yet...ummmm...long? But he knew before they were to meet...he needed to do one thing to insure their love would last forever. He had to get rid of the competition. So he asked around the locker room...and found out that Tony had a brief fling with this hot super star......so he mistakenly set fire to Martin Grammatica.
He then found out that it was Carrie Underwood that Tony was seeing. He felt bad for the Grammatica family...but then again...they were soccer players...thus they didn't really count as "real" people.
He thought about stalking Carrie Underwood...but didn't have enough time to get back and watch Tony at practice so he left her alone (for now).
He knew Tony was still hurting after the "Favre-like" debacle he caused in the playoffs against Holmgren's Seahawks....
He knew he had to be gentle with young Tony ....so he ran up to him before practice and blew him a kiss......and told him he'd do anything to "be" with him...even though they may not be of the same religious upbringing, share the same racial heritage, or be socially compatible.
To Bakers' surprise Romo came on to the field with a special message on his wrist band. Things were looking up!
They shared a wonderful afternoon together.....one that Baker has confided in me..."he will never forget." They laughed, they cried...they walked in the park....they pushed each other on the swings.......but when it was time for them to share a meal......everything fell apart. Baker told Romo of his aversion to all things gluten......and Romo confessed that he has the exact opposite affliction....he suffers from Celiax Poo Poo...and must ingest 4 lbs. of gluten every day just to stay alive. They both realized that a long term relationship would never work...so Baker packed his bag.......hopped in the Mercury.....and headed home..... knowing that his one shot at love was nothing more than a hopeless pipe dream.
Next time Baker says to you "Marry me"......try to ignore the tear running down his face....and wish him a belated "Happy Birthday." After all...he's not realy saying it to you.... he's saying it to Tony. Stay tuned for more contest pics tomorrow. 10-22-07

OK...here i am with what i like to call my new "Redic-Stick" the most ridiculously "gimmick laden" board i could assemble. I suppose if i would have gone with the swiss ceramic bearings for $150 it might have been even more ridiculous....but the *almost* uber light with it's carbon fiber ply....the tensor responses that are 11% lighter than other trucks...the flip speedlite wheels that have about 2 mm of tread...and 6 ball swiss bearings.

8-30-07 The last weekend of Summer!!!!!! School is back man......i don't think anyone is happy about that fact. Though it might mean that if you're not in school.....there are less skate rats at the park during the school day. If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend.....let me make a few suggestions. First of all, on Friday night is a punk rock show in Green Bay...well technically i guess it's in DePere but just consult the flyer i guess....i really don't know what I'm talking about. Secondly, Thrasher's "King of the Road" tour is going to be making it's way through our fine state this weekend and I believe most of the festivities are happening on Sunday at Cream City Skatepark. All four teams: Black Label, Blind, Foundation and Zoo York.. should be a crazy time. Check out Cream City's website It's your last weekend of freedom.....make the most of it.

Baker was trying to put a board together....but he didn't notice there was a vintage Schwinn bike on the counter. Man...that explains quite a few things.....like why there was a bike pump on the counter, etc. If you're interested in saving this bike from a certain doom in Baker's garage...hurry down to the shop and make Baker an offer.
Drew gets the ender-ender for this update....we can't deny what photographers around the globe are beginning to discover: Drew is cute dude! So enjoy...until tomorrow that is. Let's hear some contest suggestions......i'll start you guys off with a freebie: I suggest that the contest is more like a race. We have groups of four or five skaters and they all start at the same time at the top of big blue. Roll in and have to touch the coping on the quarter pipe and come back. First one to reach the top of big blue wins. The qualifiers battle it out until there is only four skaters left for the final run. Winner gets all the prizes, money, etc. It would be like roller derby...without skates....or helmets...or ....other roller derby-ish stuff. 8-15-07

7-25-07 Wooohooooo! It's time for that monthly update yo! Alot has been happening since last time we updated.....we had the premier of "ALL WOUND UP".....which was alot of fun. We had LIFEST....and we had some Harry Potter action....all in all a very busy month. Of course I took some pictures along the way....let me post some.
The underage crowd finally got to experience the talent of YOUNG DURSTY!!!! I must say he was tons better than the first time i saw him....and plus he traded in his air brushed jersey for a DGK shirt....dope!
Derril Pounds rocked the house.......

This picture is kinda sad....it was taken when Carlten's knee still worked. Not sure if Tanner's knees work or not...but as this picture shows you...his "CHEAH!!!!" hand is working just fine.
Then after a bit of a breather...it was time to build the skatepark for LIFEST. Lahti, Baker, and I worked........

After seven thousand hours of building, moving, delivering, reassembling, etc.... we finally got to skate the stuff at LIFEST. Day one's demo was a blast....even tho we got rained on...that kinda stuff doesn't get Cody Peters down.
LIFEST was extra sweet because an old friend of mine came up from Madison to help us out. No kids you're not dreaming....nope you're not looking at an old Osiris box..that really is none other than Mr. David J. Mayhew, Esq. nose blunting the quarter to wedge.
Dave brought two skaters with him from ALUMNI boardshop. They were both super good....and super nice......well....not as nice as Dave....but still nice none the less.
I told you they were super good...ugh.....when will you people stop doubting me? And this guy didn't even complain that he didn't have a brown streets of fire shirt to wear like Zack, Thomas, and Ramiro had.......like i said.....they were nice guys.
I don't know who that girl is....or that guy with the 'fro....but ask Mayhew....I think he gave that girl a ride home.
Cody Peters took advantage of the oodles and oodles of "Free Hugs" that were in abudance at LIFEST.......
Don't think that Jimmy Cash didn't tear sh*t up at LIFEST...cuz he totally did!
Even Anthony Schneider was there.....and he wore a hat! How festive!!!! He was heard bellowing..."on board for the Lord!!!!" several times during Saturday's demo.
That's alot of skaters on the deck isn't it? We meant biz dude......we did.
Remember this guy? Yup...rollie STILL doesn't know which was to use the hubba. Maybe he'll figure it out by next July (which might be the date of the next website update).
EA Sports had a busy LIFEST. Not only did he help by supervising the skatepark, he also stencilled artwork all over the ramps (and D-Bag's van...but that's another story), he ollied off the back of the wedge ramp, and he ruined skate boarding fashion forever by going way past tight pants....all the way to.....knee-holed man-pris. Most in attendance were visibly shaken by this......
A few autographs were signed.....this little guy thought Mongo was "all that and a bag of chips."
